Wondering

Contributed by spsm on Sunday, 15th June 2008 @ 07:11:16 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

I went to the cemetery yesterday. Walking by headstones, stopping sometimes to read the names and ages of people unknown to me.
I wondered who they were, what their dreams had been. Some of the graves were neglected, forgotten, left to be; & it made me sad.
Is there no one left to remember or do they choose to forget?
I wondered what those people would think if they could see, know, hear.
In a way, I hope they can, I hope their spirits are singing with the birds, floating in butterflies, and riding with the wind, keeping watch over their family, whispering words of encouragement, hope, and love. Giving peace to those in pain.
Are you there? Was that you in the breeze that kissed my face? Was that your hand in the leaf that touched my back? I hope so. I want to believe

Ok I am crying again. This really touched me. Timing for one.

I often think of that as well.
Was that you in the breeze that kissed my face?
That line really got me.

Beautiful write

Michelle

Terriffic piece of work. I love to visit cemetaries to look at the markers. To wonder about the people and their lives. Great post.
