Again I awake with you on my mind...
Why now...why do you continue to hurt me?
My tears were almost dried...
But now they tend to bleed...

Damn it all to hell, I still love you...
Even after all the hurt...
You breathed life into this soul...
Then death unto my heart's only worth...

Your arms were wrapped around me...
Tonight as I slept...
Realizing it wasn't real...
Out my eyes velvet tears crept...

Are these moments where possibly...
You're dreaming of me while I dream of you?
Is that why I awake somber and crying...
Is that why I hurt enough for two?

I wish that were the case...
For then I'd know you still care...
Then I'd settle for the hurt...
Because I'd know you're hurting there.

great poem...isn't it weird how dreams are sometimes? I believe dreams can reveal deep/subconscious thoughts and emotions, and it's funny how a remembered loved one can appear in them. Even the thought of that loved one keeps you up all night...I hate that, but i guess there's no use in restless denial. take care...
