Joe Bear’s Letter To His Daughter

Contributed by tifrob on Wednesday, 11th June 2008 @ 02:54:07 PM in AEST
Topic: goodbyepoetry

My Dearest Baby Girl,

You my dear ~ You were my first,
Puffed with pride ~ I almost burst,
Because of you ~ I had to mature,
From a boy to a man ~ With no detours,
This I did ~ For you and I,
You never need to question why,
As I held you close to me,
Never again did I want to be free,
I never tired when it came to you,
And I learned things that I never knew,
First I learned ~ That you wouldn’t break,
Not from love or minor mistakes,
Yet, mistakes were made baby girl,
And I’m sorry ~ They touched your world,
I pray with time your memories will ease,
Become a happier place ~ Like they are for me,
We grew up ~ You and I,
We rolled down hills and danced in the sky,
We had more time ~ For you and me,
So, pass me on ~ To those who need,
We pick and choose ~ As we grow,
Life is a gift ~ This you should know,
So grow up Sweetie ~ Grow up kind,
Always know I’m one step behind,
Don’t fear the future ~ Or regret the past,
Live life big ~ And remember to laugh,
Remember the love that you and I had,
It’s not gone ~ I still love you ~ Dad.

I Love you,
Daddy

~~~
A very touching and equally beautiful write, Tifrob. I am not sure what the dates at the end represent... but I hope it's not what I think it is... Good write anyway...
