Another Day

Walkin along the rocks
and kickin dirt everywhere
I can't help but realize
It's a new day but I feel the same
Today's cars are parked in yesterday's lots
and tomorrow I'm gonna walk by here again
I hope I notice something new
maybe an odd rock or a reptile slithering across the dirt
I'll keep my eyes open
but I doubt I'll feel different
A fish could fall from the sky
but I know I'll keep walking along
Because every day passes by and
My only hope is that one day
Today will stay.

Hey cool poem. Neat content and form which is both clear economical and rich. Like the lizards and fish and of course the magic that as you (the poet) makes the wish that today will stay, through expressing that in a poem today WILL stay. Carry on writing! |
