As The Sunset Brings The Pain.

Topic: EmotionalPoetry

When others lay their weary heads to sleep
Through my mind you slowly creep
All those nights I layed awake and cried
Sick to my stomach with butterflies
Broken dreams bleeding from my eyes
A million nights of sorrow
Knowing that every sunset
Would cast a shadow upon tomorrow
Like a raven in the night that has lost it's sight
Unable to move, unable to take flight
Broken wings keep me bound to the ground
And I'm screaming your name but I don't hear a sound
When the lights fade, the mind kicks in
And all the hurt inside seems to bleed out from within
Like black skies over an angry ocean
The night seems to drown me in my own emotion
Choking on the poison of my own despair
I keep the window cracked because I need the air
Staring at the veil draped across the sky
Every night feels like I'm about to die
Times stops and the world seems to fade
Wrapped in a blanket of thorns
Resting my head on a razorblade
There's no comfort, no rest
Just the desolate darkness
And the broken heart inside my chest
I can hear myself breathing
But I'm barely alive
Wondering if I'll survive
Patiently waiting for the sun to rise
I see your face on the inside of my eyes
Revolving memories soaked with pain
The second hand on the clock stuck in my brain
The silence steps aside for the tick, tick, tick
Over and over again until it makes me sick
And as the tears continue to fall from my eyes
I begin to see the sun peek through the skies
The night is over and a new day has arrived
I'm in a thousand pieces
But yet again I have survived
So I'll bury myself in the contingencies of another day
Let the noise of the world push my emotions away
I won't think about you until then
As the sunset brings the pain...
Tonight when we meet again.
