Whispers of the Willow

Contributed by shelby on Friday, 6th June 2008 @ 09:07:56 AM in AEST
Topic: anguished

I cannot continue, there is nothing left to do.
Scorch of your fire is to much to bare.
Beyond the moors and the banks lined with wild roses
the willow will forever stand once more.

Haunting winds blow, cold from the north.
One can hear the whispers of the willow.
She may bend but wont break, under hurt or pain
or natures diverse effects of blistering ice and snow.

She shall dance once more near the shore
and at times near the edge of all before her.
An occasional slip but never a tumble
She has her spark and strength once again.

Dainty doesn't mean that the grit isn't there.
I have seen this willow bent till there was a crack.
Repairing and rebuilding and all that comes along
to sustain the blow and another mighty wind.

Whispers of the willow, her song is rising high.
To dance upon the clouds reaching high into the sky.
To rise above the storm and embrace the harshness thereof
and never to be choked out by the weeds and lack of love.

Standing firm and proud of the lass she has become.
Rambling wild and free despite of old thorns.
Searching no more for the answer is right here
bend like the willow, whisper once again.

Note: Some may put me down but I don't stay there for long..............
While others are going down in the flame and turning to dust.
I chose to be that beautiful willow dancing in the rain, dancing in the sun
and rambling free along the beautiful bank with a river for my song.
Listen close you may hear me whisper to you...........

~Michelle~
