there is only minute shadow left
where caring used to be.
the feeling of disconnection
& sorrow rendered
slowly wasting me. . .
no doubt this space is widening
what's left now
between you & me. . .
as twilight brings a cloak
of black,
indentured certainty.
my eyes, once so saddened
have been replaced & nearly
hardened as to stone.
I could not see
how clearly we
were meant to be alone.
how closely all our tendencies
do hover near what's torn
& nash & splay
discarding graves. . .
crypts for what we mourn.
