How Will I Be Remembered?

Contributed by Jenni_K on Thursday, 5th June 2008 @ 05:24:54 AM in AEST
Topic: selfstruggles

~~^~~

When I’m no longer around,
How will you remember me?

Will I be remembered as the sexy, youthful girl
Who was once like a mermaid in the sea,
Or will you only remember the plump
And slovenly side of me?

Will I be remembered as the sister
Who always tried to keep peace within the family,
Or as the big sis who managed to intimidate
All of your boyfriends-to-be?

Will I be remembered as the aunt
Who gave her nephews and nieces her heart,
Or as one who constantly tried to control your lives
By trying to show you what was right from the start?

Will I be remembered as a loving, loyal wife
Who doted on her husband all through the years,
Or will I be remembered for the one thing I almost did,
That caused you to have fears?

Will I be remembered as the caring teacher
Who gave her best for twenty six years and more,
Or as the one who gave up in the end,
And is now walking out the door?

Will I be remembered as the poet with two books
Who poured her heart and soul out on this site,
Or as the one who always was correcting mistakes
And being a pain in the ‘arm’ each night?.

Will I be remembered as the friend
Who was loyal and caring and kind,
Or as someone who always bugged you
And was maybe just another ‘find’?

So tell me, I’d like to know,
How will YOU remember ME??
*

*
(Or will I be remembered at all??)

I have not been here at YPDC for very long, but I know...I will always remember you for your kind comments...not only about my writes, but the comments that you have presented to many other writers here.

Your comments have always been welcomed and have inspired me to do more, or possibly write better. I've found you to be a deeply intellectual and talented writer. And believe it or not, I'm learning a bit from reading your work. I further believe that my sentiments are also shared by many other writers here at YPDC.

For all of us...I say thankyou...God Bless

Again, you have another fine write.

A better question is, How could you be forgotten? You are a caring, special lady. You have been a great friend to me.
