~Self-Destruction ~

Contributed by Jenni_K on Wednesday, 4th June 2008 @ 05:45:08 AM in AEST
Topic: selfstruggles

~~^~~

Leaving her sanctuary
to journey along an unknown highway.
Alone on a path of self-destruction
Unsure of the destination

Blinded by pain and ignorance
she builds a wall between herself
And those who care for her
She creates false images in her mind.
She perceives shadows that are not there

If only she knew, where this road was leading,
her journey would be less of a drag.
At present, she feels less useful
than a dirty piece of rag.

The unknown path is a new adventure.
The wall is merely a safety net.
Images are hope and dreams.
Enjoy the new adventure, where ever it leads.
Never useless.... the dirt on the rag is a reminder of where you have been.

Such a sad write for you my friend. You are deeply cared for here and we are here for you.

OH hun ... how very solemn and grieving this piece is. Though, (I'm sure you
know), writing it all out is so very cathartic. Chin up sweet friend. Life's
blessings are sometimes in disguise. We need only wait out the gloominess
to find the sun sparkle on our waters again. :)

the last line is tear-inducing. :( I do hope that is not how you feel. You bring
so much joy and smiles to those in your circle. (At least here anyway. ^_^)

hugs hugs hugs

An excellent poem. A definite description of building up a wall, hiding, and shutting down. Funny how "waiting for the other shoe to drop" makes it seem easier to shelter ourselves in a world that makes thing no better. Forces away our loved ones - did you know my ex-wife- huh?

Well written jenni
