The Last Words of May

Contributed by lostinmyself on Tuesday, 3rd June 2008 @ 04:18:52 AM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

The sun will shine
when clouds run dry,
but I won't be here anymore,
not on the English clover fields,
nor down upon the moor,
as on The Cliffs of Dover, I'll,
lay lost, like those who died before.

The dawn will break,
and tears shall fly,
and wind shall swiftly take them all,
into the sea where waves collide,
hard against the white cliff wall.

Then looking back upon the sky,

I'll close my eyes and say goodbye

To England, and to all.

Ah, my Kindred Sister. You break my heart and still it sings to me. This is beauty in simplicity and I love you for it.

Be well,
Loende

For me this is very visually serene.
Emotionally, it seems choppy like cold waves against sharp cliffs.

Oh sweets!! WHAT a WRITE!

I adore this. It is so mysterious and deliciously poetic. The first time
I read this I was affected in a melancholic way, but upon this morning's
read I have found something different. A talent for the craft that you
have honed to near perfection, hun! Damn. This is exceptional! I
enjoy all of your work-- always have, but this one somehow is
different for me. It speaks to me of something else. Something more.
Something MUCH more, though I cannot even place my finger upon
what more.

Exceptional job, sweets. It's nice to know that "actual" poetry still
lives and breathes in the pages of YPDC.

Love ya!! Will PM you even though I know you won't be back for a while. :(
Miss you sweetie ...

~ Breezy
