'WRITE POETRY ON PROPERTY" (graffiti on the rooftop of a wine cellar, Parramatta Road Sydney 2008)

write poetry on buildings,
dab it on the walls
paint haikus in toilets
and limericks down the halls

roll couplets in the carpet,
spill ballads in the bars
scrawl rhymes on sea-soaked beaches
and doors of foreign cars

scribe sonnets with the morning clouds,
carve epics on a pin
post stanzas on the backs of crowds
and sit right back and grin.

You know, poet, I never quite thought about it like that, but it would be a good deal
more satisfying to read than the graffiti garbage that's mostly printed in those
places. ;)

This little ditty rolls right off the tongue so pleasantly and made it all the more fun
to read. The last stanza was, IMHO, quite profoundly brilliant. You may have not
meant as much to be taken from it, but there is such a deeply moving encouragement
in it. Beauty in movement, dear poet. Even rapturous in some aspects.

A lovely Sunday morning (evening) to you, S!

An amusing and clever poem. It raised a smile. :-D
