Footprints

Topic: LostLove

It’ll take a million years to get over you,
And by then the world will be frozen over too,
But when it happens you will soon get to know,
Because I will leave my footprints in the snow.

The tears you caused to run when you gave pain,
Still leave stains but, do you know, never again,
So I’ll smile from this second and not look back,
Because even without you ain’t nothing I lack.

Friends are still my friends, not yours to share,
Not that knowing how you’d ever give a care,
So what, so I have no lady to carry to my bed,
At least you won’t be deep inside my head.

One day, just one day, just mighter take me,
Find a girl, like me, available, absolutely free,
And she’ll take my hand and off we’ll go,
So make that two sets of footprints in the snow.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
