What You See Is What You Get

Contributed by marie on Friday, 30th May 2008 @ 02:15:08 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

I am a liar

Not to be trusted.

I am a failure

Never good enough.

I am worthless

You do not want me.

I am sick

Don’t try to heal me.

I am lost

Don’t try to find me.

I am broken

Don’t try to fix me.

I am gone

Don’t try to bring me back.

I have done what I can

You did what you could.

I have battled this myself

You fought for me too.

I have lost and I have won

You weren’t there to feel my pain.

I have overcome and fallen back,

You can do nothing now.

I am a song left unsung.

A kite left un-flown.

A book left unread.

A heart left unloved.

I am no hero,

No survivor,

No fighter.

I am no saint,

No angel,

No peacemaker.

I am no genius,

No smarty,

No prodigy.

Instead,

I am me,

Whether I like it

Or not.

Imperfections and all.

I like this one....its like you have completely broken yourself down...left yourself open but what we see now is who you are. Your heart is shown on your sleeve....take it or leave it!

Very well written... I love it!

Ouch this is raw and wide open. We seem to be hardest on ourselves don't you think?

I see a beautiful poet rising here.
