Oh yes my daughter Alice, tomorrow will be just as you say
It shall be for you exciting and a merry frantic day
No Lass has hair and skin that fair be it touched by natures hand
No eyes are black and bright as yours of any in this land
I'll be sure to wake you early before the cock will crow
Go to sleep Dear Alice and it's here before you know
You will sleep so very soundly you will be hard to wake
When I call you early when the new day starts to break
You must not think of Robin or Shepherd Lads that care to call
If you let them get too close to you, you have too far to fall
I know that when tomorrow comes and they make you Queen
I shall be the proudest happiest Mother in all the Village Green
Me and little Effie will watch when they place your crown
So Many lovely flowers will be on your pretty gown
Please just smile and wave when you see us standing near
For when we see your smiling face we both will shed a tear
Just think about the wind as it blows waves across the grass
And think about the shining stars like shards of tiny glass
Think about how tomorrow will be a merry frantic day
For you will be Queen of the May Alice, You'll be Queen of the May
