Hopes and dreams and paper
And pictures filled with smiles.
Traveling through a lifetime,
More memories than miles.
Poignant feelings waking,
As old tokens are unwrapped.
Remembering hearts breaking,
As maidens too often are apt.
Jewels from distant relatives,
And animals made of glass.
Letters from admirers,
Things that quickly past.
Events that ended quickly,
Though memories remain.
Especially if they involved
Heartache, loss and pain.
The closing of the boxes,
The shutting of the doors.
The memories still linger,
Like soft steps across the floor.

Very vivid and poignant write Kat.
I could see the images in my head as I read the words, they just tumble effortlessly down the page.
Well done

This is a great piece. It is amazing how each piece packed away relates to a memory. Good job.
