Little Girl, Little Girl, Come Out And Play.

Contributed by Karlee14 on Monday, 26th May 2008 @ 12:25:16 PM in AEST
Topic: SadPoetry

A little girl about 8 years old
So pure so fragile
No knowledge of the cruel world
But only for what can be seen with one’s eyes
Sunny sky
Green grass

The woods
A mother’s warning not to stay out late
Little girl running freely
Pretending to be Pocahontas
Her favourite game
Heeded warning a little too late.

“Little girl, little girl
Do you want to play?
Little girl, little girl
Are you lost?
Little girl, little girl, I’ll help if I may.”

Approached slowly by a dark figure
With a voice so fierce
Offering such kindness and sincerity
A little girl, too trusting, so naïve
And down she goes
Her screams pierce the air.

Eyes ablaze, mouth gagged
“Little girl, little girl, hold still
Little girl, little girl, it’s just a pill”
And in it goes ripping the flesh
Hold on it’s almost over
Hold on he’s almost sober.

“Little girl, little girl
Do you want to play?
Little girl, little girl
Are you lost?
Little girl, little girl, I’ll help if I may.”

And in the night
Approached by the dark figure
Haunting her dreams
With a voice that pierced her ears
“Little girl, little girl.
Come out and play.”

OMG Karlee this just ripped my heart. Such a tragic and chilling write. It is so darn sad... I am sorry this is a hard subject for me right now so I will leave it at that.

Incredible write you wrote on a subject so tragic with style and grace..
