In this gigantic room I’m sitting with this tiny candle flitting
Darting shadows casting figures on the ceiling and the wall.
My heart and soul are quaking as if my life is for the taking,
It is not of my own making and I wish to end it all.
How may I stop and seek someone just to end it all.
No sound just a shutter creaking down the hall.
In this stuffed chair I tarry though I know I must be wary
Waiting for a séance visit from the poet Mr Poe.
He has said that he would visit spend a moment and that is it.
Bring forth his very spirit from two hundred years ago.
Appear and his image set this huge room all aglow.
From on high his very visage or shall it be below.
A faint noise I am hearing then no sound only breathing.
Could it be you Mr Raven and what have I in store.
Then all in and instant while everything was silent
He was standing there beside me while he was not there before.
Standing stately there beside me as if he had been there before.
Just As if he had just simply walked in through the door.
He would allow me just one query though His answer may be eerie.
I then asked the simple question I felt all would want to know
Who or what is this Raven and might he be a demon.
Can you just please explain it to me before you have to go.
Tell us all of the Raven before you’re forced to go.
Why you conjured him before us all those years ago.
My dear wife lay there dying and Her doctor with her trying
Just to keep her safe and with us for at least a while more.
The Raven stands for dying all my soul with in me crying
For My Lovely sweet Virginia the dear lady I adore.
When shall again I see her this Dear lady I adore.
Quoth the Raven nevermore.
With these words he just then vanished, as if he had been banished
From this room I’m in and from this very place and time.
His words made clear my question though left me ill and anguished.
Nothing I could hear or see until the clock began to chime.
As if to say farewell to Poe the clock began to chime.
Much like the silver bells, bells, bells in a sort of runic rhyme.
