Entry Granted...Exodus Forbidden

Upon gates of obsidian and onyx
Through the bars weary eyes do gaze
Before cracked feet a street paved in cobblestone
All sense of peace escapes and its only fear that stays
Voices speak from within shadows hidden
From beyond prison gates entered under free will
Demons not much different from the conscience that guides
Tears no longer clear but a shade of crimson an ocean do fill
Through catacombs vast like city streets
Walking around with no certain destination
Apart from dim candlelight darkness overwhelms
As heart and soul begin to ache reality sets in that there is no salvation
As a free soul your entry was granted
But now shackled and chained, no exit in sight, exodus is now forbidden
