Dhq – Duty Office
This space is where it all gets done
With still some time, for a little fun
It has covered many fore and afts
And often riddled, with some hardy laughs
With Bob and Bob, Lenny, Steve and Dave
The dayshift, we’d like to think they saved
And if by chance, that was not the case
They’d still get by, with some saving grace
Then from the chair, Bob with his pile
And he’d tell you he’d some papers to file
He’d walk on over, towards the file cabinet
But a shredding sound, is all we’d get
Soon he’d come back, and if you knew of him
Wearing on his face, that ***** eating grin
He handles all tasks just as he should
But he’s still up, to no damn good
Then there’s that eve-shift, you’d laugh at often
Walsh, Laprade, and “puddles” Crofton
But Billy Lap, is the one to win it
He’s in at three, right on the minute
And then some phone calls, we’d wonder why
It’s past the sub-stations they would get by
So we’d just route them, round again
And get on back, to channel surfin’
Some decisions buried, and now entombed
They’re exempt from efforts to be exhumed
But you need not feel a sense of sorrow
We’ll be doing this all again, tomorrow
