You looked every bit as handsome today, I recall,
As I watched you walking towards me in the hall
I was so happy to see you one more time.
So once again I’m putting my thoughts to rhyme.
I‘ve enjoyed sitting with you and reminiscing,
It eased the pain of all the years that went missing.
Years of not seeing you or hearing about your life,
Years of wondering how it would have been to be your wife.
There seemed to be unresolved issues back then.
I knew it bothered me time and time again.
But the more I thought about it, the more I knew
Ours was a relationship we had to subdue.
Even though we were always worlds apart
You always occupied a special place in my heart,
You weren’t ever completely out of my mind.
Although, other partners for life we both did find.
After seeing you today, I’ve come to realize
You still have the power to bring the smiles to my eyes.
And it certainly was a pleasure to sit and reminisce
With the man with whom I shared my very first kiss.

| I couldn't help but mutter an "aww" at the end of reading this poem. Maybe it's the fact that I'm in that recollective state of mind, but this poem really hit me, I found myself enjoying it a lot. It was very romantic/sad/lovely. Wonderful job. |

Oh Jenni, this is so damn beautiful. A hopeless romantic lies within
us both, methinks. (And thank goodness for that! :)
I so adore stories about old and past loves and when you place it in
one of the more romantic forms-- poetry -- well, that just makes it
all the more enchanting to me. I'm happy that you got to "re-visit"
those moments. And every time you read this, it'll be another visit
again and again. I hate to de-line, but I just have to mention this ..
