Fulcrum of Hope

Fulcrum of hope

Everyday it’s a post-haste hour
I leave behind all that’s dour
With a light heart and endless pleasure
I rush yonder I lend my treasure
Speeding enough I reach the gate
Making sure I’m ne’er late
Stand I there with feet stout
Prepared for the day to go out
The bells ring assuaging my wait
Dapple my senses with a lookout trait
Air heats with sun ablaze
Gradually girdles a crowd in haze
The galaxy swishes nether
My astral tour begins thither
Then angelic features flock around
Stars of chaste innocence abound
All o’er the teeming grounds
Queuing random or in idle rounds
All those young merry faces
Pass me by in rushing paces
Each a star of someone, all the same
I seek the one who shares my name
They’re boys and girls with light breath
Beauty and valor defying death
On each one I dart a glance
So to miss you out there’s no chance
I scroll the eyes in every way
To find my radiant sunshine ray
Further the threshold I encroach
Count the signs of your approach
Every moment adds to eon
My drooping heart keeps pulsating on
Then inquietude dives in resting phase
As I behold your seraphic face
Your ruddy cheeks, sparkling eyes, premier smile
Full of life’s warmth, descend from heaven’s aisle
Songs of joy, hues of laughter
Waft in the ambience, thereafter
Skin to soul, zephyr cossets me
Droplets of sweat on your brow are elixir to me
I’d wonder what I’d do without you
I know I’d conquer the world with you
Mine all that could fall in jeopardy
Your aroma keeps it balanced for me
Your airy gait, tender sighs
Supple touch give me firm stands
In a trice I’d win, I envisage
Life’s already a triumph in all its scopes
Thence I fill in my eyes
Hold in my hands
‘Tis your flowering visage
The fulcrum of my hopes

…..I truly have this feeling in this poem’s every word, every afternoon when I go to pick up my little brother from school.

I thought this poem was a very good piece. It expresses a nice warmth and strength. And I like the use of language in it too. Nice work....
