An Interpretation of the Past

Contributed by Desideratum on Tuesday, 13th May 2008 @ 06:05:39 PM in AEST
Topic: abstract

Now you’re saying
“Not my problem, not for listening”
You’re an easy decision to make
And that I, meaning you, would be better off without
Facing what you’re saying, meaning me

And I guess, supposing, not to mention, that my ascension
Through your mind’s not been an easy climb
That it only stands to face, I topple and I’m placed
Far behind the summit I was cast backwards, meaning past

And to agree, means to see things differently, and admitting you’re letting go
Of the image in your head that I put on off to bed a long, wrong time ago

Now hero, taken lightly, is dismissed
As the word to define what that is, and saying change
Seems almost strange, it’s like saying time is weird
But time doesn’t disappear so mustn’t change?

Because positively certain is never certain
But I’ve got the burdens to believe you’re not positive but forced to live
In a constant recollection of the “me” you’d once inspected, said as hero, now dismissed

But please do tell the spell I’d one concocted in a cell
Of imprisonment to my emotions made to you,

So I can force it in the open
And make it there to grown in, in an air to interfere and keep it broken

See because healthy
Means two different things
It means I’m safe from you but you’re not safe from me
And someone’s got to have it, but you’d rather keep it stagnant
Where it harms the both of us, by both, I’m meaning, see?

And don’t you worry about images, they change in minutes
Its worth about the dust of picture frames
Or maybe even pictures because it’s clear every time you look
Something’s always different in your head, but who really gives a *****?

It’s a point of focus and a flash, the interpretation of the past
And you were smiling, but it didn’t come out that way and now it lasts

And to somebody else that could be you
But to everything you are it isn’t true
But everything to someone is anything you do
But anyone can make that something new

And as for hero, dismissed and gone, I don’t miss it because it was never yours
Just a never, that I had the pleasure to associate with
And I’ve got more fans than you, and they’ve got labels for me too
And they’re all wrong, and you could never understand

That who I was could never have been anything you believed in
You believed in what you saw and nothing else

I can't believe this sat there since May and No one ever commented on this. Correct me if I am wrong here, but I feel like this is just like the analytical processes I go through after something happens or as I'm sorting something out to make a final decision. I found it to be intriguing.
