Empty Mother's Day

Contributed by 6whiteRoses on Monday, 12th May 2008 @ 04:44:16 AM in AEST
Topic: MothersDayPoems

Oh, how I wish
I could watch her play
And hold her tight from night until day

I wish there was dress-up
And playing with dolls
Kissing her boo-boos
Whenever she falls

Saying good-night
And tucking her in
Reading bedtime stories
Again and again

Saying our prayers
As a family of three
Just Mommy and Daddy
And our Melody

I wish I could hear
All she would say
“Mommy, I love you”
“Daddy, lets play”

To see her with Daddy
Holding his hand
As they sit there together
And play in the sand

Its hard to be happy
On Mother's day you see
My baby's in heaven
And not present with me

This is a tear-jerker and I'm sure a difficult poem for you to have written. I know your pain and loneliness...especially on this day, since my "Felina" is also in Heaven...
Be strong.....know she would not want you to grieve too much..
Hugs
Jenni
