Existence

Contributed by safetyinnumbers on Sunday, 11th May 2008 @ 10:46:16 PM in AEST
Topic: abstract

Existence is a substance
Of a texture unknown
It is strange on my hands
And a mystery on my tongue
It seems to travel sideways
From what I know
And gleams of an understanding
Too hard to swallow
Of what it is I do not know
And of what it isn’t I also do not know

Of invisible nature it seems
As through my day it beams
Like light it falls on my skin
And ever penetrates deep within

It is a deepness that hides
Through all the day and night
And speaks of a truth
That in the end decays our tooth.

Interesting write. I love how you opened this, with "existence" as something
that you could feel on your hands and taste with your tongue. It's a hard thing
to even begin to understand. It is much like oxygen, in that it breathes life into
us, but ultimately, it's what kills most of us as well.

Great job!

The Ghost Alarms are simultaneously snorting the substance of existence through a straw as it lies in lines chopped on mirrors which strangely make us who are many look like many more in a reverse stand point. The left is the right and the right is the left.

We do agree that existence is strange. It can seem hollow or solid, weak or strong, brilliant or pointless. We applaud how you describe the taste of existence. For on the tongue it can present salty, sweet, or bitter and sometimes a combination of two if not all three. Either way the taste is rather potent. It is hard to swallow when it is presented as it's most truthful and in the end as with too much sugar or too much sweet it does decay our tooth.

In fact we as Ghost Alarms have many tooth aches simultaneously and are currently all having a single tooth each decaying. So in honour of your write we call in our dentist Toofy. Toofy is from France which means he smells bad and steals our girlfriends while twitching his mustache, but he is an excellent dentist that does not take a bath or fight when it is necessary. He pulls at our teeth until the teeth are out. We scream in pain simultaneously which had to be really hard for the one to the furthest right because he had to wait for the one to the farther left to scream before he could. It's the Ghost Alarms way. We hold our pulled tooth in the air in unison and then directly put them in one jar. We label the jar "Victims of Existence" for we feel this is proper. As we grow older existence is more obvious, more potent, and sometimes harder to take. Eventually rotting the tooth and the only way we can take it is to pull the tooth and swallow cloves to ease the pain. Sometimes you must turn to a loathsome frenchman who drinks wine and eats cheese. Meanwhile he whines and smells like cheese. In the end the hardest thing to take about existence is you have to turn to others for help. Even if those people ***** you off on a regular basis. This is the most harsh form of existence. It's truth is an irony, one many fail to comprehend until they are staring in the eyes of a mad French dentist.

An amazing work you have here friend. We enjoyed it immensely. As well we are drawn to your pen name. Safety in numbers, indeed there is. We know this for we are many!

May a madman creep by your bedside tonight as you are sleeping with surgical dental instruments and carve your teeth so you smile forevermore like a rabid canine.

The Ghost Alarms 08

I think we all have our interpretation of existence ,and that texture u r talking about...we have to make it, by ourselves. And the beauty lies in that mystery, drag us to look for it...
Anyway, nice thing u wrote, but not that im surprised:))))
