A piece of who I am is gone
I sit in darkness until the dawn
Tomorrow never gets much brighter
The darkness inside never gets lighter
Afraid and alone
In this place they call home
I've nowhere to turn
When my heart starts to burn
And my stomach to churn
A fire deep inside
To keep me knowing I'm alive
A piece of who I was is lost
I sit on this corner to peddle the cost
Tomorrow may be something new
But it remains to linger outside my view
Afraid and alone
In this place they call home
I've nowhere to turn
When my heart starts to burn
And my stomach to churn
A fire deep inside
When everything around has died
A piece of who I'll be is taken
I sit in darkness til my heart reawakens
Tomorrow may or may not be better
In the winding down hours I write out this letter
Afraid and alone
In this place they call home
I've nowhere to turn
When my heart starts to burn
And my stomach to churn
A fire deep inside
When I only want the love to die
