While walking the plank,
The captain demanded a poem of me.
Before, on a seaweed shore,
I was a cab driver, who hated the sea,
I read "The Tempest",
Laughed at them.
I picked up a man at quarter to three,
I asked where he was going, he said "Out to Sea!",
I thought he was a drunk,
I drove him to the aquarium,
He got out to pay,
Shoved a sword in my face.
He took me on a ride through the slums downtown,
Took me to the wharf where the water turned brown,
Introduced me to the crew,
Who beat me on the deck,
They threw me in a cell,
For two weeks I cried,
"What can I now see, in the abysm of time?"
I'm floating alone now,
The captain is gone,
Floating all the way back,
To my open cab door.
