How could you love such a monster as me?

You say you love me,
tell me every day.
oh how it hurts me to hear you say,
that you fall more in love with a monster every day.
I don't deserve the happiness you bring me.
And love is not something I should ever see.
I've created a monster in human flesh,
The things I've done weren't for the best.
No one should ever have the burden of loving something like me.
A daemon that no one person can see.
My happiness should have been taken away.
But it just keeps coming back for me.
You want me to trust you,
And I do.
I believe every time you say I love you.
But I just can't figure out for the life of me.

How you could love such a monster as me?

Love is like a band aid if you keep it on for long enough the old wounds heal over, leaving but a small scar. Perhaps you are not so much the monster you think you are any more...
