Dancing again

Each particle of hair
Felt like a grain of sand between her fingers
And as they drowned through the cracks
Each silver strand danced
Harmonized into one somber tune
Drops of tears accompanied
This pendulum of life
Casting themselves like waves
Onto an over polished floor
Blending honesty with melody
As ancient as the rain
It wasn’t until her eyes closed
That a little girl appeared
And danced across the room
In a pink sequenced dress
Innocent to the urgency of truth
She stared into eyes
That time had robbed blind
The palest of blues
Betrayed bloodshot white
A testament of God,
Now a cocktail disguise
But it was the music in the air
That pulled her back
And it was that little girl
In a pink sequenced dress
That taught her to dance again
