oh paramor

Contributed by ladyfawn on Thursday, 13th March 2003 @ 03:00:00 AM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

love's passionate affinity is
what the wind is to fires
extinguishing the small
flamingly enkindling desires

previously never quite believing
could be such happiness in this world
between two mortal beings
and love's beauty for the seeing

with your dear love in my life
i am never ever feeling alone
ahh, times i wish we'd met sooner
though would we have known?

those three little words you say
hold my life in them, it is true
so, in simple honest caring return
forever and ever, i love you too

our love is so like a river
ever changing as it flows
and we two just a canoe
that must follow where it goes

*~*

I know how you feel! I too have so much trouble putting how I feel about my sweetheart into words! I try, though, over and over, which is probably why I've written so much about him, lol. Beautiful words! Brilliantly done! :D Blessed be,

~ Moonlit Angel

You know, normally I'm basically poem illiterate, as I like to call it, but I understood this one. ("Poem illiterate" being because I'm more in to novels then anything else. Lol. Just an interesting daughter you have here, eh?)

Anyway, Mom, I loved it. Really good. ^_^ Interesting title, too.

Hugs, kisses 'n' love,
Mara

This poem is absolutely wonderful and a credit to you. It expresses beautifully what all of us have, or, are still enduring in our lives. After having read this many times, i went a little further and accessed the dictionary for the word PARAMOUR to make sure that i had a complete understanding.
Have saved this writing, and to you "LADYFAWN".....
TOP OF THE CLASS !!!!

Very heart touching....
Really I have found in your heart that like you are lady of our tribe. Same feelings same subtle thoughts.
Because we are having same mental blood group, same heart feelings, and same emotionas. Like child is crying when its favourite toy missing, we are alwys doing same when our heart missing.... Because heart is same.
Now we are talking about love...
you have found already here billions theories of Love. But in the bulk nominations of our feeling towards Love is very extra ordinary.
I think that Love is a bird which dwells in an strage mountains. Like the Greek gods it is cruel, but there is a sweet pain in it. and we are dying for that pain. Some extend the the Doctors are calling it the Sadism or Masochism... But none any knows the Feelings of Love except the Object of Love.
When a human fallen Love that means The human feels monotonious feelings. Withour love human is a part of society, but after love he feels strangehood.
Same are in your poem. The Fear, Happiness, and all.
I have felt really good stuff and found like the echo of my own sound...
You are in front of mirror when you are saying the poem. and beside of you the shadow would be mine.
My Dear you are not alone in this alien world, but feel our feelings which are at your heart.

you have a good ear for meter, but your rhyme scheme hits snags. what happened to it in the second stanza?

i really like the line "what wind does to fires". what a good metaphor. it has the potential to be great, the but the fourth line bogs down...

the last stanza is Garth Brooks, almost word for word (I'm a little embarassed that I even know that.) I think you can do better.

worth a rewrite!

well, banjo, thanks i think lol, could you be more specific on what my 'snags' are? -as i do not know your thinking on this, why don't you also enlighten me on my second stanza, i happen to also like it, and ty, i too like my, "what wind does to fires" ty, what do you mean only a 'potential' to be a good metaphor? it is lol, the forth line there is a well done rhyme, too, please elaborate; "but the fourth line bogs down..." and also, i do not play country music in my house and have no idea what song you are referring to by garth brooks, i would like to know now out of curiousity, i assure you it was my thoughts at the time of my writing, and the man i wrote this to has a little saying about rivers:) oh oh and warm welcome to the site, have a beautiful day:) your writing friend, nessa
