My youth is drying up
at the bottom of a mile deep well.
It has withered and shriveled to a quarter of its original size.
Tomorrow I will wake up,
and it will be gone.
I won't be able to speak the same languages anymore.
Clothes will feel foreign against my wrinkled skin.
My spirit will cry out
rattling around inside this strange new body,
when I realize all the roads have closed,
and there is no way back.
My youth is drying up
at the bottom of a mile deep well.
It has withered and shriveled to a quarter of its original size.
Tomorrow I will wake up,
and it will be gone.

I am starting to feel this myself, and even now it is a thought on my mind. This poem is well written, and I really like the simple and repetitive structure. |

I have also been feeling this way coming close to another milestone in life. It seems the time flies by so fast doesn't it?
I enjoyed the write........ Never fear we are always young we just need to pursue it at times a bit harder lol........

You're only as old as you want to be. Sure things change but that is the only constant. And what is it with youth anyways? You're willing to step out faster from lack of expierence and an over flow of arrogance.
so let it dry and taste the seasoning. |
