A Night Time Sorrow

Contributed by poetic_punk on Thursday, 24th April 2008 @ 10:54:02 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

A thousand lights spread across this empty space
Yet darkness falls like rain drops upon my twisted face
I do not fear that which somehow comes to eventually pass
Nor do I tread softly across this bloody and broken glass
Only from deep down within my bruised and beaten self
Can I walk with head held high and confidence in good health

Still i see these many mouths are hanging gaping open
But not a sound do i hear as if my ears are broken
When my eyes fall upon your face so alive and bright
All I see is a hollow place where i used to find great light
From within the soul these feelings sit and still they wait
As if to jump upon your life and forever change your fate

To all of you I say these things that never reach your ears
The I sit and wonder why it seems that no one cares
All these people gathered round and I see no way through
And still i sit and ponder if these words i speak are true
To end it all on such a note would leave my soul so dry
And to leave you all without a word would only be a lie

So maybe I really do need help with these things inside
If only you knew how much I feel like something inside has died
But still I try to make these things that all seem wrong, so right
And instead of staying in the dark I decide to find the light
This is how a life can be changed from dark to light to good
Now i look upon that lowley place, where no man has stood

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
