~Where did the time go?~

Contributed by shelby on Thursday, 24th April 2008 @ 01:38:22 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

Remembering tiny hands and feet
laughter streaming through hallways
tears when brain went faster than feet
and a tumble down hard in the gravel.

First steps and first words
little teeth that bit down on fingers.
Moments calming nightmares
and days spent out in the summer sun.

Mountains and fishing trips,
all of you loved those moments so
delight and wonder in bright eyes of blue
with fishy hanging off the end of your little poles.

Seasons pass, things in life change.
People fall out of love
split up and move away.
Circumstances take us away from each other at times.

Then here you are,
standing before me,
talling than I, grown up.
A young woman a young man.

Catching up the best part.
Clearing feelings of the heart
the warmth of hugs
a few shed tears, we are here together.

Our visit brief yet bitter sweet
as I watch you drive away.
Two grown young people
as I see two small children fade away.

How sweet the memories are of children that slowly but much too fast grow out of innocence into who knows what type of human. It is a pity that children must follow lifes pattern and become adults, Just to wipe away a childish tear and see the sweet smile that radiates from a face that knows it is loved is a priveledge that is treasured for the rest of ones life. Poetry is definately your metier my dear Shelby keep on writing Please. soapy
