Counting The Days.

I count the days since you've been gone
Watching the hands on the clock spin
Time seems to just drag on and on
My eyes bleed with tears
Emotions that seem to fall away like the years
The distance is far and wide
And everyday without you
Represents another piece of me that's died
Like a slow, tragic death
Fragments of my soul break away with each breath
Falling away like my shattered dreams
But my devotion to you is relentless
It keeps me stitched at the seams
Enough to hold the memories within
Carrying so much love for you it bleeds right through my skin
For what is undying cannot be killed
And the proof resides in all the love I've spilled
Separation won't break me
The distance can't shake me
Because no matter how much time I have to watch burn away
I still pray that you'll come back someday
You know I will stand here forever
Hoping to put the pieces of myself back together
But I can't do it without you
Your the most important part
I've collected all the pieces
But you hold my heart
So I'll continue to breathe
Breaking apart but carrying on
And counting the days...
Since you've been gone.
