I Will Hold You

Contributed by FLTulip on Wednesday, 12th March 2003 @ 10:40:00 PM in AEST
Topic: FamilyPoems

I held you in my heart for many years
Sight unseen, skin untouched, but real
The thought of you dried my tears
Plagued by worry that I would not feel
The joy of being a Mother

I held you in arms finally fulfilled
Unwilling to lay you down to sleep
The salty tears of love oft spilled
Upon your newborn cheeks

Trouble will never crease your brow
If my will be done
I’ll try to solve your woes somehow
You are my only son

So if you find yourself alone
And your happy days are few
And from this world I’ve flown
Know that my heart is still alive with love
And with this….. I will hold you

Dear Tulip, This was a beautiful poem. I hope you will give us more of them. This poem will be a treasured memento for your son. How fortunate the two of you are to have one another. Great-grandma Bizzy
