LOVE LOST

Contributed by whome on Wednesday, 23rd April 2008 @ 02:11:20 AM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

There is no such thing as a true Love lost
If love is allowed to be lost, a heart it must break
Such a thing will cause great sorrow and gloom
Deprived of love one is sure it is now their doom

Now in the night as I sleep, I dream of sorrows
No more of golden dreams and dancing eyes
Endless pain and unending tears of bitterness
Dreading the night and the once joyful memories

But wait, is there not still a little light to be seen
Love may be held in abeyance and told to wait
A hope, for the future, a dream not yet decayed
Thus a love will wait in hope that it is just delayed

One’s future is important, it should be shared
A person to love, desire and hold for ever more
Is that not the hope we both once shared
As we spoke of our dreams and our desires

Now it is gone, dashed on the rocks in a storm
The tempest of tears flow with unending sorrow
Of this pain I feel, I once thought, never again
In spite of it all, we will both live and survive

But living without love is like living a lie
Hope springs eternal so I hope for a future
These tears I must dry to see my path ahead
I pray to the god of fate my destiny to fulfil
