This beautiful filthy place
With love hiding in plain sight,
Pulling at every emotion,
Dragging each one on this fantasy ride.
Blocking out every attempt at love,
Not willing to try, not willing to cry.
Not a word of truth ever spoken,
Not a heart on this path left unbroken.
A goodbye kiss time and again.
Unanswered calls, unwanted dreams...
Always chasing what can’t be had;
Until in reach…then sent astray.
Empty conversations of what may be
As a glint of hope beckons…foolishly.
Sights always set on what will never be;
Waiting for the end to unfold…

Oh my friend I have driven that road.
Words elude me with this write.
It is deeply emotive and touching.
Written with the hand of a poet.
