I Hope Lost Gets Cancelled

Contributed by a7x36 on Monday, 21st April 2008 @ 04:41:50 PM in AEST
Topic: surreal

These words can be twisted
Into a novel of epic proportions
Or the newest Spielberg film.

But I no longer think in words or sentences,
Only inside my house and under my roof.

Slaying the sunrise and torching the refugees.
Rome’s burning, so let’s make s’mores
On the world’s largest bonfire.

Or go shopping at the nearest outlet mall.
Maybe you can buy a toupee or some dome wax.

I heard Charlie Sheen is going to be there.
Maybe he needs new shoes.
Isn’t there a nike store nearby?

Remember kids,
Captain Kangaroo hates you
And all the celebrities were just like you once.
But now they have too much money
To care about you or keep their egos from
Becoming the second ninth planet.

Get it?
You know, ‘cause they got rid of Pluto.

But more importantly,
It’s not about how you start.
Only how you finish.

That’s what I learned in kindergarten once.
It might’ve been right after the alphabet.
Not quite sure about that,
So I guess someone’s making waffles for breakfast.

Great write! Quirky, random, and completely truthful! Though you say it is useless, I would argue it is more relevant than most of the submissions. I loved it! Well done!

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
