Look in the sky,
show me how it works,
tell me of the sinister man,
talk of how he lurks.
why is the man getting us involved,
in all his pain and grief
do you see that we are being pulled
into this shove against our chief.
we already know the man we love,
we already know the man we hate.
why are we swept into this external world
that some do call fate.
It does trouble me that we cannot stop
the cursing, the lying, and hearing the knock.
The knock on the door, the temptation we hear,
the way he lies and laughs in our ear.
I am waiting for the day,
when life begins to fade,
and we realize our purpose,
and how it does not relate to the surface.
The surface of where we live,
the surface of what we wear,
and the ignorant, subtle surface that we do not seem to care.
Save me, Oh God, save me from the world.
tell me of the love you give
and how you see me and how i should live.
what am i doing wrong, today, Oh God,
tell me what you see for me,
and I'll play it with an accepting nod.
