You said you love me, but you hate all men
You said you trust me, but can never trust a man
You said, “I’ll help you take care of things”
And left everything in my lap
You say it’s wrong for one person to hit another
Yet you hit me throughout our years together
You cry about abuse you suffered
Yet you abused me from the start
You said you just want to be loved and understood
But you offered no love or understanding
And you wonder what happened to us?

i love this.
being a daughter of divorced parents, and my mom nearing the end of her second divorce... i can understand.
in divorce.. you say and think things you normally would've. like any 'traumatic' event. sometimes saying it in writing, is better then actually speaking...
divorce is full of contradictions.. and flat-out lies.
i like how you showed that... 'you said this, but meant that' sort of thing.
sorry for your loss.
writing's a good way to deal. =]

A sad write, so sorry to hear these things. Been there done that and I do agree abuse comes in all forms and from all directions. Hope things get better for ya. Keep writing!
