Somewhere In The Silence

Somewhere In The Silence

Some choose to stand along with others
But I chose to stand-alone
And they may hear an entire song
Where I search the empty tones

For somewhere in the silence
There’s hidden serene noise
You need not try to strain your ears
Just try to keep them poised

And sometimes in that silence
A heart’s cry may be found
But if you’re not prepared for this
You’ll never hear the sound

It’s kind of like, when people say
To read between the lines
You’ll be surprise at what you’ll see
Or what you just might find

So look into another’s face
When lips have a shortfall
And somewhere in the silence
The eyes will tell it all

I felt that you lost the rythme a little in places, but it had no overall effect on the poem.
I think the 3rd stanza is the most telling and the most beautiful.
"And sometimes in that silence
A heart’s cry may be found
But if you’re not prepared for this
You’ll never hear the sound"

The ending is both profound and beautiful. I loved it and I loved the poem overall.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
