You are eyes downcast

LoveRemembered

The end like a spider digging a grave— starts longer than eyes—crusading green disease,
Kneel, I am conquered; the storm bides dreamily in the street.
Arise, I am subdued; sunlight breathes crisp, steel fields.
A train—Jews, unbidden attic, ennui and fear—a shadow of the words written in the insistence of hope, the naivety of love—slinks into the horizon of an unresolved thought.
You are eyes downcast always in my thoughts.
Invisible nation; nation in despair, comfort me: throw legions of lily in the rivers of your bones; grieve long, a steadily advancing sorrow; love—for the sake of a long ago young girl who found in herself the naivety of love, who found in her heart the hope of a bright, forgiving world.

I feel that this is a very insightful poem. You did a great job with the metaphors and syntax. If I could ask for anything, it would be for a longer poem, but this is great in itself. Keep it up :). |
