The light flickers as you slam the front door. I say "hello," as if it were a chore.
You ask "how was my day," after a disappointed sigh. I told you it was good, were both so used to this lie.

This is intriguing but it feels disappointedly unfinished. as it is it is not a poem it is only two pretty well written lines of what looks like something that could end up being a pretty good poem. dont leave it at this i want to read more. it does not even address "the meeting" described in the title. from what ive read here a better title would be "this lie"... just a thought. :) |
