If this were honesty, would you believe me?
If this were true, could I trust you?
Would I be able to tell you?
And would you believe my words were true?
Tell me why you think I'm lying?
All because I started crying?
The words you said, pained me so.
I am not dead, but I'm ready to go.
I wanted your trust.
And now all I have is lust.
What I want I just couldn't say.
But before I did you turned away.
Left me here out in the cold.
So bury me before I turn old.
I knew you wouldn't believe this was true.
I just thought I could trust you.
But I would never lie to you.
As long as you trust me too.
Just listen to the words I say.
I told you the truth every day.
Believe me when I tell you.
I love you,
As long as you love me too.

| When I was 16 my aunt told me, "It is a greater compliment to be trusted than to be loved" .... at that time I didn't understand what she meant. Six years ago, I experienced a situation and now I understand that statement completely..... Good write.... Jenni |
