The Best of Both Worlds?

It has been said, it is the best of both worlds
But those with true knowledge, would surely disagree
From a platform lacking analytical consideration this is uttered
And although meant to emit a positive connotation
The language still echoes smartly in your mind

Caught in the web of this emotional intensity
You are suspended within euphoric bliss
For the edge of the envelope is where you walk
You are plunged into deep exhilaration
And it is here, that you thrive

But what of the other side, does it matter
That where your heart reminds you constantly
With a never-ending ache that is seared within you
A feeling you can’t quite describe as physical
None-the-less, you know it is there

Has reality been taken for the brightness of the light?
For every day is a juggling act
Comprised of highly concentrated thought, there is no escape
It has entrenched itself within the deepest you
And the mind is deprived of a chance to rest

This is the side of upheaval, living under the guise of ecstasy
And the realization comes much too late for you
Although you are there, you are still here
Your point to return has by far been breached
And this path now remains, but straight ahead

Even when you wish to rest, there can be none
The rules of engagement must be followed
And this, just cannot be allowed
Still you believe that you are impervious to injury
Think again; is this the best of both worlds?
