Behind my laugh is a hurting heart.
Behind my smile I’m falling apart.
This is true,
And it’s all because of you.

You’ve made me hate myself,
Made me hate myself so terribly that I wanted to end this life.
I thought that I was angry with you—
But it was really me the whole time.
You’re the one who changed me,
Made me so cold and empty.
But it’s not you I hate—it’s me.

I hate that I wasn’t strong enough.
I hate that I couldn’t hold out longer.
I hate that I couldn’t just walk away.
And I hate that I still love you,
Even after everything you’ve done.

I wish I could go back in time,
Erase everything that ever happened.
I don’t want to remember you.
I don’t want to hurt anymore.
I want to erase you from my memory
Because of all the pain you’ve caused me.
But it’s not you I hate—it’s me.

This puts me of the edge of tears.
It's sincere, serene... and sad, at the same time.
