oops

i've been punched...
kicked,
bruised,
shattered,
broken and battered.
But,
you were the latest,
and perhaps the greatest
disappointment
in a long line of guys.
i had
such high hopes for you.
i think the problem lies
in the expecting of perfection.
I am the romantic idealist
who has seen
too many movies,
and has watched too much tv.
Maybe its time
to put perfection to bed,
and wake up
with reality.

| heard this poem before in so many lackluster ways....... life is long, people are plentiful, everything will be ok. trust me, i'm always right, except for when i'm not |
