THE SILENT DEATH

Contributed by deadwriter on Thursday, 10th April 2008 @ 11:30:58 AM in AEST
Topic: Grief

The Silent Death

Looking at you makes me want to scream
Since I have only been seeing you in my dream
I want so much to call out your name
But I must remain silent just the same

I feel as though I am looking from behind a picture on the wall
Capturing how beautiful you are and you do not see me at all
You see the false image of a man you do not know
Even though we were as tight as friends could be just a few years ago

It is killing me to not speak with you as the man you knew
The time away was hell and always kept me blue
My return was destined though I thought I would be strong
This silence is killing me. God, how could I be so wrong?

Desiring to reach through this façade and caress your cheek
To reveal myself to you, but I am too weak
Quickly sliding down as I inhale my last breath
Wanting you to recognize me before my death

Lying here waiting for God to lift my soul
I will finally be able to reach my utmost goal
To watch over you and keep you safe from harm
Serving as your guardian angel and your good luck charm

I have felt this same silent death, as I am kind of going through it now. The one thing I am learning though is that sometimes it is the person who is choosing not to see you. I am learning that if you do everything you can to show you are alive, then you might as well be dead cause they will not notice. That is when it is time to move on and show your life to someone that will accept it. Best of luck to you and very nice write. Thank you for sharing it with us.

I find that nearly all of us write about how we feel, or from our life experiences. If I truly understand what you are saying in this poem, then tell that person how you feel right now. Don't wait on death to lend a hand. Very good write.

Your writings are easy to read and easy to associate with, compassionate and heartfelt. Well done and thanks for sharing...not always easy is it...

Your write are easy to read and associate with as the previous comment said. And I have to agree, dont wait until you are dying to let this person know how you feel. Take the time while you have a chance and let them know...I know that it easier said than done for we are all guilty of it. But you did a beautiful job with this as always.
