My Seraph

Contributed by TundraHydra on Wednesday, 12th March 2003 @ 09:30:00 AM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

How many times have I counted my problems
Smoked my cigarettes, wished for an end to this life
How many people have looked at me with disgust
How many of them have I broke their trust
I've been mocked by many and put down by more
The harshness of the words eventually eat away my core
I remember a time when I was popular and great
But little did I know that popularity made me what I hate
I thought I could stare into the pit and laugh
When I tripped into the hole and for so long it's been my path
I tried to grab the walls to slow my descent
I could only cry out for an angel to be sent
After awhile my voice gave out and my sanity spent
It seems so absurd now that I look back
All I had to do was be positive to find my angel and get back on track
With time there came a silvery ball of light
Its beams of brightness pierced the black of night
The angel came close to me so I could see its face
It was you, that lovely being it was
You joined with me, making whole what once was half
Even now I look at you and you are still that angelic seraph
