So few are confident,
But I am one of them.
And at one time, I was Your servant.
My life was there for You to manipulate.
Still I give You my utmost respect and reverence,
But my cold shoulder has been turned.
You answered what You could,
And I know that.
You spoke to me, I listened.
I still believe that You are the greatest,
But you are strangely irrelevant
When nihilism clouds my vision,
And my heart remains vacant.
It’s gone in such a short period of time;
The divine life was sucked from my body and
Left a pale skeleton draped with skin.
One that treads continuously with so little purpose
Yet remembers how much it cared
And devoted its life to such a great cause.
It’s been morphed into an unrecognizable doppelganger
Full of endlessenss and nothingness.
It indulgences in nothing more than the act of living
And I can’t quite shake that memory of when you meant so much more.
