In Silence

Contributed by lostinmyself on Sunday, 6th April 2008 @ 04:36:02 PM in AEST
Topic: selfstruggles

Somewhere inside, a part of her died,
it trembled and moaned, and quietly cried,
it became hollow between,
all the lives that it dreamed,
and in the end there was no way
that it could have survived.

In silence she spoke,
and the poetry came,
but in between every breath,
the words became changed,
in hope, she had tried,
and in hope she had died

in silence she spoke
and the words were denied.

Somewhere inside, the hope became doubt,
it burdened the flame, and it quickly went out,
her heart soon turned cold,
and her muse slowly died
in the end she had known
it was barely alive

In silence she spoke,
but the words were just lies.

And somewhere inside her,
the poetry died.

You speak of an emotion which many of us share. Beautifully expressed. Touching and powerful.

Philly,

First let me say it is wonderful to see your name grace the home page.

Now, for the poem ...

Truly touching and beautiful work. The emotion and internal struggle spill out in this piece. I tried to pick out a favorite stanza or line and was unable to do so ... this poem is just wonderful as a whole.

Peace

~Shannon

You've obviously rekindled that flame, because this is a beautiful and flowing poem. I'm humbled talent, but also inspired. Absolutely gorgeous!

OH hun!! That last line was just excruciating! I am so affected by these words.
They are extremely haunting, as they fly through distilled air, clinging to
the lost victims of indifference. Damn hun. Your poetry always touches and
moves me to where I find it hard to articulate my exact thoughts on it.

I will say this though. The poetry did not die. Not if this write is any witness.

Beautiful work sweets, as always. :)

*hugs you tight*
